Valdosta Daily Times: EL Education Curriculum Leads to 87% Increase on Assessment Scores
The Valdosta Daily Times highlights the dramatic improvements Scintilla Charter Academy achieved by implementing EL Education's 3–8 english language arts curriculum.
After adopting EL Education’s 3–8 language arts curriculum, Scintilla Charter Academy in Valdosta, GA saw impressive gains in their Georgia Milestone assessment scores.
In just one year, Scintilla improved their English language arts scores in all grades that used the curriculum (3–5). Of these, grades 3 and 4 saw the most substantial gains with 87% and 72% increases respectively.
Jennifer Denham, director of communications and engagement for Scintilla, said the improved scores were correlated with the recent implementation of the EL Education curriculum.
“Although our teachers had the daunting task of implementing these new and innovative approaches, we were thrilled to see that in just one school year, the scores reflected that the model is working to increase student achievement,” Denham said of EL Education.
